MOSES

Social Justice Advocacy at Christ the King

As Christians we each have a set of values.  For instance we value equity, fair public policy and justice.  When we look around society and see laws and situations that are unfair, we seek other like-minded souls who seek to build enough power to change those laws, to transform those situations and advocate for justice

Our parish is a long-time member of the MOSES organization.  MOSES is a group of diverse religious congregations and allied organizations. It’s mission is to develop leaders and build relationships to advocate for social justice in southeast Michigan.

MOSES Statement of Faith and Direction

Our faith in God and love for people compel us to assume responsibility for the quality of life in our communities.  Therefore, we involve ourselves in social and community issues.  As an interracial and cross-cultural union of interfaith partners, we commit ourselves to our community and, by doing justice, loving mercy and walking humbly before God, we anticipate the completion of God’s commands.
