Knights of Peter Claver
Four Josephite priests and three African American laymen established the Knights of Peter Claver on Sunday, November 7, 1909, less than 50 years after slavery was legally abolished. The Noble Order offered spiritual guidance and fellowship during a period when the Black community was advocating for human and civil rights, true economic freedom and opportunities, and improved educational access.
Soon after the Order’s founding, the Knights became a family organization – establishing the Junior Knights (1917), Ladies Auxiliary (1922), and Junior Daughters (1930).
The Knights of Peter Claver and Ladies Auxiliary is now the country’s largest and oldest historically Black Catholic lay organization – comprised of many doctors, judges, teachers, clergy, mechanics, engineers, and other laborers and professionals.
We continue the work of our patron saint, Fr. Peter Claver, by engaging in church and community service projects; supporting local, regional, and national charitable appeals; and caring for one another.
Join our Claver family so that we can continue making history in the Church and throughout the United States! Contact Grand Knight David Craig for more information.
OCIA Faith Enrichment Group

It is a group of people, born, shaped, and sustained by the fire that is our Catholic faith.
Recognizing our reliance on our faith, our goal and mission are to meet regularly to study, pray, reflect on resources and other materials, and deepen our understanding of the Catholic faith.
Just so you know, all are welcome to attend. We meet weekly on Saturdays, 10:00 a.m. – 11:30 a.m.
Contact Vivian King for more information.
