A Community Parish in the City

Rev. Victor Clore - Pastor

Fr. Clore has been a parish priest in Detroit since 1966, always serving in racially integrating city parishes. His pastoral specialty is blending Holy Scripture and Human Psychology. He has taught at local Catholic colleges, and supports everyone's participation at Sunday Mass, lay leadership, and a parish school that gives our children a good start.

Rev. Mr. Joseph Urbiel – Deacon

I was ordained a permanent deacon and assigned to Christ the King Parish in October 2009. My responsibilities include involvement with the Youth Group, and the Stewardship and Faith Formation Commissions. I also minister to the Sacraments and the preaching of the Gospel.

My wife Clarice and I are blessed to be a part of this wonderful and vibrant Catholic community in our city of birth. My focus in ministry is simply to share with you service to the Word, the Sacraments and the works of Charity needed in our community as we support each other on the Way as disciples of Jesus.

Past parish experience includes Christian Service Commission, Parish Pastoral Council, Vicariate Council and various service and liturgical ministries. I am a graduate of Walsh College with a degree in Business Management and of Sacred Heart Major Seminary with a Master of Arts in Pastoral Studies. I work as a manager of facilities and distribution logistics for a local company.

Jesus said, “If I… the master and teacher, have washed your feet, you ought to wash one another’s feet. I have given you a model to follow, so that as I have done for you, you should also do.” (John 13:14-15)

Nicole Evans - Office Manager

Nicole became a part of the Christ the King Community when her son began attending school here in 2006. Since that time she has been a volunteer, a substitute, teacher’s aide and eventually a lead teacher in the preschool. In 2014 Nicole transferred over to the rectory where she currently serves as the office manager, a Minister of Service and the Evangelization Commission staff person.

Andi Kovach - Bookkeeping

Having worked at Christ the King for more than 32 years, I have worn many hats. Currently I serve as the Office Manager and staff person that meets with the Worship Commission.

I am responsible for maintaining the parish calendar and for making sure that the bills get paid and the financial reports are prepared in a timely manner.
